Special Topics in Homeland Security

Instructions
You have been asked to give a short presentation at your local high school on the topics of homeland and national security. The principal of the high school has requested that you do this because she is aware of your interest in these topics. She is asking that you develop a PowerPoint presentation that you can show and discuss during a general assembly of the entire school.
The students have submitted some questions in advance. Include responses to their questions during your presentation:
What is the difference between national security and homeland security? What are their missions?
What laws have been implemented to help fight terrorism?
How effective have counterterrorism strategies been at keeping our country safe?
What is the difference between a domestic terrorist and an international terrorist?
What trends are we seeing today with regard to terrorism? Are we safer today than we were pre-9/11?
You are not limited to just these questions, but you must at least cover them all in your presentation.
Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least 10 slides in length, not counting the title and reference slides. You must utilize either the Notes or Audio Narration feature of PowerPoint to include additional context and amplify the information for each slide.
You must use at least two sources, one of which can be your textbook. You are encouraged to use the CSU Online Library, as well as relevant, up-to-date industry resources to support your PowerPoint presentation. All sources used must be properly cited, and references should be formatted in APA style on a reference slide.
If you wish to review how to create a PowerPoint presentation, view this Success Center webinar on  PowerPoint Basics . The CSU Online Library also has a helpful tutorial about How to Research Homeland Security Topics.
