H.floresiensis

Welcome to Week 13’s discussion! For this discussion I want you to read this short article about H. floresiensisPreview the document and then answer the following questions:

1) Which morphological features have been used to support the argument that H. floresiensis is a pathological modern human? Are these features strong evidence of this? Why/why not (be specific!)?

2) Which features have been used to support the argument that H. floresiensis evolved from H. erectus? Are these features strong evidence of this? Why/why not (be specific!)?

3) Which features have been used to support the argument that H. floresiensis evolved from a pre-erectus hominin (habilis or an australopithecine)? Are these features strong evidence of this? Why/why not (be specific!)?

When I say “strong evidence,” I am asking you to tell me whether or not there are issues with this evidence. In other words, if someone has made an argument using a particular trait, does it hold water, or has someone else disproved it. 🙂
