Hello Professor and Classes,

This week’s discussion talks about technology in the workplace. The technology that I use at my workplace is a desktop computer and I also use my android cell phone. The doctors and the medical assistants in my office also use tables when seeing their patients.
Therefore the article that I am interested in talks about How Consumer Technology Is Remaking the Workplace. In this article, it talks about how people are using technology on their phones more because they feel comfortable.  “Now, instead of relying on IT-sanctioned desktop computers and centrally deployed software, youre much more likely to find people using their personal mobile devices to check work email, review company data, manage projects, and create content, often using apps that lie far outside the corporate firewall”.
What also stood out for me in the article was the fact that people use tables more.  It says ” Tablets have made huge inroads, too: 33 percent of companies say that most of their employees use tablets for basic work tasks. More remarkably, the same number says that most of their employees use tablets for advanced tasks such as customer relationship management (CRM), project management, content creation, and data analysisall of this less than three years after the introduction of the first iPad”.
