Antigone

In regard to Antigone – the play.

Describe the character and motivation of Antigone vs. Ismene and Creon vs Haemon.  How are their characters revealed? What is disclosed through their interactions and confrontations? What does Creon reveal about his opinions of women? What does Antigone reveal about her feelings on family and religion.
In the end, what does the reader think/feel about Creon?  Is Creon a tragic figure? Do you feel sympathy for him at the end as someone who initially tried to do good yet was overwhelmed by circumstance, or do you believe that he is a bullying, misogynistic control-freak who gets what he deserves? Does he represent the human need for an orderly, stable society? On the other hand do you think Antigone was justified in her opposition of Creons orders? Why/ Why not?
