Using the activity system maps on the next two pages, create activity systems for both Richard (as a student) and Dave, from McCarthys study, focusing specifically on their reading and writing. In addition to Richard and Dave, who are the other subjects in their various activity systems? What types of tools do they use? What are some of their spoken and unspoken rules? What does the division of labor look like, and their communities? Lastly, what are their motives for doing these activities and what sorts of outcome are they hoping to achieve?

The activity system triangles on the subsequent pages have text boxes for each element where you can type in your notes. Be sure to include specific page numbers for your reference.
