Foundations Of Social And Behavioral Sciences Theory

Please write a 5-page paper, double-spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman, 1″ margins:

In the third segment of Marshall Bermans book, All That Is Solid Melts into Air, he writes about Baudelaire, a writer on modernity in the nineteenth century. Baudelaire writes about his visions (134) of modernity, which have accurately progressed to our own modern day. In one of his visions, the poem The Eyes of the Poor, Baudelaire describes two lovers sitting at a caf, on the boulevard and their different views of a poor family and how it affects the males view of his lover, leading him to an eventual feeling of hatred towards her.

  1. What does the boulevard represent in the context of modernity?
  2. Please use examples from the book to support your argument.
  3. What does this imply about living a modern life and the meaning of a modern city (i.e. Haussmanns model of the city)?
