Engineering and Construction Civil Engineering Technology Project description This project covers the design of a section of highway with a design speed of 100km/hr. The highway, which is situated in Hatta area, is a four lane divided highway with two lanes in each direction. The width of the carriageway is 7.800 meters with a constant crossfall for drainage of 2%. The lane width is 3.900 meters and the shoulder width is 2.700 meters with a crossfall for drainage of 4%. The full median width is 10 meters and the right of way is 100 meters. Given the contour plan of the area, in which the highway is to be designed, select a route that contains at least two (2) horizontal curves and two (2) vertical curves linking Jeema Mineral Water Company to Al Zahra Compound with a minimum horizontal clearance of 100 meters each side. Having fixed the tangents, carry out the horizontal and vertical alignment of the road and draw three (3) cross sections showing typical cut, fill and combination cut/fill cross sections. TECHNICAL REPORT WRITING GUIDELINE The following are guidelines for the format of the Technical Report.
