“things” you compare can be actual “things”

Description: In this essay, you need to choose two things to compare and contrast. The “things” you compare can be actual “things” (Mac versus PC, for example), or something more abstract, such as two separate cultural practices. Simply comparing and contrasting, though, will not be enough to receive a good grade on this paper. There needs to be a point, a reason why this comparison is valuable. Perhaps your point is to try and prove that PC’s are better than Macs, or perhaps your point is to highlight similarities between two apparently different cultures. Basically, ask yourself, “So what? Why is this comparison important?”

So the two things are the village and the city
