The Schreber Case

You have to read about the book ” The Schreber Case” from Sigmud Freud find a passage and comment about it. Here are some guidelines on how to do it :

The point of the response paper is to sharpen your skills in close reading. You should focus on a specific passage or scene in the reading assignment, perhaps one that you find particularly puzzling or important in the overall argument or narrative of the text. Try to raise a question and develop a thesis as concisely as possible that addresses it. You may leave the conclusion unsettled and raise further questions. But make sure to provide well-argued reasons in support for your opinion and not simply a personal reaction.

I’m looking for whether you select a passage, situate it within the text, and articulate a thesis that stems from it. Develop your point and convince me. Either tie things together or raise further concerns at the end. Also, make sure you provide a (1) title and (2) page numbers for your citations.

The first and hardest part is to find a good passage where a problem or relevant issue becomes apparent. Everything follows from this.

There’s some optional exercises for making your paper more concise. When you’re done, ask yourself “What is this paper about?” If you can’t answer in one or two sentences (and those sentences aren’t clear in the paper), then chances are you need to reformulate your thesis. Also consider underlining your thesis (your argument or question around which your paper is organized).
