Assignment Requirements

This is an individual piece of work that represents your research journey up to the point of submission.

You may continue to record your journey, albeit perhaps to a lesser degree, until the final submission of your thesis. Such documents may become part of that final thesis submission.

The 7,500 word (or equivalent) document can perhaps be best described as a patchwork text i.e. it will be made up of a number of areas, documents, things of interest, skills analyses, written personal reflections, pictures/cartoons all of which have meant something to you over the course of the taught part of your programme and the work you do in between modules to progress your research.

Each patch or section will meet one or more of the learning outcomes for the module e.g. discusses and audits your strengths and areas for improvement as a researcher, discusses your values as a researcher and the impact these may have on your approach to the participants in your research, evaluates the effectiveness of action learning sets, identifies some of the original contribution you may be making and how you have or might promote your research knowledge in various contexts.

To link these patches together you will need to make a reflective narrative.

Two main areas will be assessed:

1. Your personal development as a practitioner?researcher, your personal skills, your research capabilities, your use of a range of mechanisms/activities to arrive at these initial outcomes and conclusions.

2. The critical assessment of the value or impact of these developments on your actual research at the date of hand?in.

I will upload the course and teaching materials and a mind map. This piece of work should show my personal development from an undergraduate to choosing a research philosophy that is appropriate in regard of the research questions (I have attached the document “Research Philosophy and Questions”).
