Organizational Outcomes Field Research

Organizational Outcomes Field Research

In this assignment, you will engage in individualized field research by collecting data related to the HRD (Human Resource Development) outcomes analysis processes of two different organizations and presenting your findings to your instructor and course colleagues as a narrative essay.

Note that names of actual organizations or individuals and all other identity-specific features are to be excluded in this assignment. You will use pseudonyms for organizations and fictitious initials ONLY for individuals as descriptors in this assignment. Further, no data collected for this assignment may be used in articles or other materials for publication.

You will select two different organizations for study and, in each, you will secure the cooperation of a knowledgeable senior administrator (e.g., VP—HR, HRD manager, or training director) in gathering your data.

You will interview the senior administrators using an interview guide provided by your instructor. The interview questions will focus on methods used by the organization to determine the costs, benefits, and organizational value of employee training. You will analyze and reflect on the data you collected during the interviews and then present your findings as a narrative essay.

***Your paper will include an introduction, literature review of at least five references to books and scholarly journal articles, separate sections detailing each organization’s characteristics and the interview data you collected, an assessment of each organization’s effectiveness in determining the costs and benefits of employee training, and a conclusion.

Assignment Parameters: The paper should be 15 to 18 pages in length exclusive of the title page and incorporate at least five references that are not outdated. Meaning you must have references from 2005-2015.  The paper must follow APA (6th edition) guidelines and format and style requirements.
