Analysis of one reading that deals with persuasive language

5 page essay analyzing one reading from Language Awareness, or one reading in our Readings & Handouts section that considers persuasive language.
Analysis means looking deeply into one source and examining its parts. Usually an analysis assignment asks you to apply a particular theory or set of conceptual tools. In this assignment, you will apply the concept of Aristotles three appeals, ethos, pathos, and logos, to show how one author uses all three appeals in an argument.
Sources: one class reading, handouts on Aristotles rhetorical theory in Blackboard, and chapter 14 of Language Awareness (on writing a research paper).
Documentation: cite sources MLA style and include a Works Cited page.The instructions for this option are the same as for Option A, but the subject will be different. The readings in these sections are about persuasive language language used as a weapon, as a tool for good or evil, for manipulation or for inspiration. You will analyze how well the author explains her/his point about an example of persuasion.
