Gendered names of cyclones and our perception of risk

The research is a replication of the study by Jung, Shavitt, Viswanathan & Hilbe, 2014, regarding how people’s risk perception of natural hazards is influenced by the name given to those natural hazards. Research supports the idea that hazards with female names are percieved as less dagerous, and a lower risk when compared with male named hazards.
