Should religious groups get a ‘pass’ from public law and guidelines on the basis of individual and group conscience, even to the extent of undermining the ‘legitimate’ rights of other citizens? In other words: should the ‘dictates’ of individual and private conscience be allowed to trump the rights and entitlements of citizens based in law?
