Angeli

Angeli has a reliable perspective about life in the fourteenth century. This is the same time that Geoffrey Chaucer, the writer of the Canterbury Tales when he was young. Angeli brings forth an accurate overview of the bigger issues that surround life in the old-fashioned England. She went forth in forming a believable basis for her story using the inclusion of prudently chosen specifics. The novel acquires the sights, sounds and smells of a busy medieval city and is varied with the peaceful environment of a monkish society; it states the form of travel that are on the highways and byways of the past England, and the constantly there, the risks that are experienced by careless travellers; and it shows the pleasures and problems of staying in primitive castle in relentless danger of being attacked.

The heading of Angeli’s novel shows its main subject, for the Door in the Wall is based on young hero’s determination to look for opportunities in the “walls” that were around him. These walls brought about outside activities that Robin de Bureford had no control over. This began with the removal from parents that have been called away by issues regarding the state- his father to work with the Kings soldiers, his mother to work as a lady-in-waiting to the queen. The second one and quite significant is the unexpected paralysis that Robin had in his legs, basically from polio. By him and looking to a future that he was not sure about, Robin as expected becomes fearful. However, he is directed to the monastic hospice of St.

Mark’s who stays in the environs of London, and is here that the tutelage of friar Brother Luke, Robin starts to get to know about getting “doors” by the “walls.”

Point of View

The Door in the wall is brought forth to the reader in the first person basis. The novel is based in the aspect of a ten year old boy that goes away from home so that he can be a page for a knight. Robin begins to engage in activities while below the required age. There are certain clarifications on issues undertaken by Robin or undergoes though generally about all of the things are seen in the eyes.

Most of the explanations and impressions regarding individuals are basically superficial since a child has no ability to see the world as a grown person is. A novel that is carved in the first person basis is limited on the size of character advancement as one where the author defines issues in great extent since Robin is not in a position to get a view of what other people think.
