Bridge 4: Artist Journal
                INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH
Readings: Original research sources
Students will create a journal/ diary/ series of letters by an artist of your choice from a specific period in that artists life. Up to 1 year period in length may be covered by the journal/diary/letters. There should be a focus in the journal on whatever important struggle or growth that the artist is going through in that time and you should have a clear idea of what about the artist you are investigating through this creative research project, such as a struggle to be accepted by the art establishment, addiction, health issues, a period of artistic/ personal growth, etc. The journal will integrate Chicago style footnotes and cite the sources diligently any time information from them is discussed. 1000 words not counting footnotes.

INSTRUCTIONS:
After choosing your artists of interest, conduct preliminary research to figure out which 1 month to 1 year period you are interested in exploring and what about that time period you are investigating. There must be a clear focus and clear limited time period of up to a year that your diary/ letters/ journal will cover.

SUBMIT:
Write 50-100 words declaring your artist, time period and specific focus for your Bridges 3 + 4 and what made you interested in picking them.
Then respond to 2 other students posts to ask clarifying questions, offer feedback on clarity and specificity of chosen topic and suggest research sources if you happen to know anything relevant for the chosen artist and research focus.

MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES
