Theme: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
You are a practicing pharmacist. One day F.C., an apparently healthy 42-year-old man came to you to get advice. He was watching some health-related documentary film recently and has become concerned about his health. He has not seen his family physician for years. He says that he is too busy with his work to go for a routine physical since he does not have any complaints. He does not know what is blood cholesterol level is. He works as a telemarketer and his wife works as a receptionist. They have a 13-year-old boy who goes to public school. F.C. mentions that he is concerned since his father died suddenly when he was 10 years old. He only remembers that his father died of heart disease. His paternal uncle also died of a heart attack in his early fifties. F.C. is not overweight but he and his family eat food from fast food shops and nearby diners almost every day. At night their regular food includes sausage, meatball, baked potato, bread with butter, etc. He also smokes half a pack of cigarettes each day.
