Victorian Era and Post-Colonial Writing

Task Details
Part 1: Creative compositions
Two narrative extracts (500 words each). Each extract should explore the relationship between the individual and their world.

a)    In the first narrative extract, you must imagine you are an English author from the Victorian era. You must set the first narrative extract in Victorian England.
b)    In the second narrative extract, you must imagine you are a post-Colonial, modernist, post-modernist, and/or feminist author who is writing a manifestation of the original piece in a setting and voice of your own choosing

Part 2: Reflective composition (500 words)
Write a reflection that considers the ways your extracts reflect ideas, values, and ways of thinking from each era. This should include an explanation and justification of key language features, an awareness and evaluation of the writing process, and a consideration of how your contextual knowledge shaped your writing.
