Describe Buddha’s and Zen’s differences with regard to: techniques of meditation, nature of enlightenment and conception of the meaning of life.

Zen Buddhism claims that its enlightenment has been passed down from Buddha himself over the last 2500 years

(see attachment), but there is no objective basis for this claim. Zen actually seems to differ quite widely
from the original teachings of Buddha. Describe these differences with regard to: techniques of meditation,
nature of enlightenment and conception of the meaning of life. How do you think that Zen Buddhism might
defend itself against the charge that it has been unfaithful to Buddha’s actual teaching?
