C. S. Lewis

C. S. Lewis argues for the existence of a “Tao,” which is a body of objective truths (absolutes) common to humankind. However, he also argues that departing from the “Tao” (relativism) has serious consequences for humankind.
Dean Geuras and Charles Garofaloprovide a four-step process to aid public administrators in making intelligent, ethical decisions on the job. In doing so they attempt to ground ethics in objective standards (absolutist theories). However, they note that many scholars assume there are no absolutes to guide an administrator (relativist theories).
