You have just been elected as a Trade Union Representative and you think that many of your members/fellow worker are unaware of their rights under their contracts of employment.
Explain what the workers legally enforceable rights are citing the relevant legislation. What would you expect to be contained within a written statement of the terms and conditions of employment? As a modern, responsible Trade union representative you are keen to ensure that management are able to make decisions regarding operations to keep the business competitive and protect members jobs.
