This essay aims to critically examine the (social) and psychological approaches to the study of career regarding Holland’s career theory.
Holland’s career theory will be critically analysed and compared with other theories. Therefore, limitation and strength of the theory will be pointed out. Furthermore, it will be shown how research programs or the understanding of this career differ across time (classic approache and cotemporary approach)
