The report should be supported by materials and information we have discussed in class as well as information from external sources. Please include at least 5-7 external academic sources, such as academic journals, books and reputable news sources. No more than half of the resources can be from online. Please note that Wikipedia (or any other similar open source online encyclopedias) is not considered as an academic source.
The essay should contain the following main components: 1) a brief description of the topic and the theoretical value that lies in it; 2) briefly introduce the background information of the country you have selected and explain how the topic fits into your selected country; and 3) a critical analysis of the issue in the context of your selected country.
Preferred file format for electronic submission is MS Word.
• Be typed and double-spaced; use normal font (e.g., Times New Roman 12); have 1-inch margins; and number all pages consecutively;
• Not go below or above the word limit;
• And cite any sources that are borrowed from others and include a bibliography page at the end of the paper. The bibliography is not counted towards the page limit of the paper.
GRADING CRITERIA AND WRITING GUIDELINES
The following guidelines are intended to give you a sense of the evaluation criteria. Note the importance of the four recurring elements: thesis, use of evidence, design (organization and clarity), and basic writing skills (grammar, mechanics, spelling, etc.).
