Overview:
The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to think about the theories
of hate crime perpetration.
Requirements:
1. Pick the case below.

2. In a maximum of 1 page, briefly summarize your case and its final verdict using (and
citing) relevant newspaper reports.
3. In approximately 3-4 pages, identify and discuss which theory (or theories) of causation
best describes your case. Drawing on course materials, especially that which is contained
in the second unit of the course, offer your own an analysis of the event using evidence.
Format:
The paper should be approximately 4-5 pages in length and must be typed and double-spaced.
Handwritten papers will not be accepted. Your paper should include a few outside sources, but
the theories of causation can cite lecture. Please use proper APA formatting for your citations.
