Case Study: Common Law Enforcement Encounters

##Focus on this category please ## > Excited Delirium
w/ Alcohol use

This case study assignment is designed to reinforce the unit learning objectives LO2: EO2.52.9.

Throughout this unit, you will review the signs and symptoms for dementia and delirium. The unit specifically examines Alzheimers disease since this is the most frequently encountered form of dementia for criminal justice professionals. It is also important for law enforcement professionals, first responders and other criminal justice professionals to familiarize themselves with the signs and symptoms of delirium. Cases of excited delirium are on the rise and individuals who encounter people suffering from this state will reach out to members of law enforcement for assistance in subduing the persons who are in the middle of an excited state. The encounters are very dangerous and present several challenges to law enforcement and other emergency responders.
