Decision Analysis Questions

Experience/Observation

Describe the issue or problem that required a decision.

According to Iliescu et al. (2013), the most crucial components of a good program are “a clear vision of the future and a well-thought thorough plan explaining the actions that must be taken…in order to fulfil the objectives specified and turn the vision into reality” (p. 755). (p. 755). Accordingly, managers that exhibit good planning abilities, such as formulating and strategizing, have the highest chance of implementing a successful program. Bellevue Medical Hospital is recognised for being the number one trauma hospital in the New York City region. Their purpose aims and values are to always put the patients first and deliver the greatest quality treatment for the patients even if they do not have any medical insurance. Mission & Values. (n.d.) This hospital assures that no one is turned back for the services that they require.

What bias could be put on the question? In other words, what aspects of the situation can be ignored or assumed?

The funding can be ignored at a point because the quality of care is highly important.

What criteria can be used to measure success?

I believe that Bellevue Hospital should develop and execute a fertility preservation program for children who have survived cancer. To help childhood cancer survivors avoid a recurrence and ensure that whatever therapy they get does not adversely affect their ability to bear children in the future, this hospital has the finances and resources necessary to implement such a strategy.

What experiences can be used in thinking about this issue?

In order to have a successful program, a manager must be able to carry out the duties of his or her position in the business. Plan, create, and evaluate new programs are among the duties of program managers. The basis for the design, planning, and implementation of a project lies in effective planning. A program's intended stages and budget may be tracked through the use of assessments. Organizing a project's schedule Iliescu et al. (2013) state that "a clear vision of the future and a well-thought thorough plan explaining the measures that must be taken…in order to achieve the objectives established and turn the vision into reality" are the most crucial components of an effective program.

What metaphors, if any, can be used in thinking about this issue?

For example: “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.”

The metaphors are to provide quality care to everyone.

Why might you or your group think about this issue or problem the way you do?

From the age of puberty on, everyone in this company will be able to participate in my program on cultural competency. In Bellevue, even if you don't have insurance, you may still use all of the city's services and amenities. For my program, the best strategy would be to attend local community meetings, meet with the mayor, advertise on posters, place them on buses, and work with major businesses, all while using social media to gain global recognition for the work I'm doing. This would help me achieve my program's main vision and goal.

What does your frame/perspective of the issue emphasize?

The healthcare issue focuses on the healthcare quality.

What does your frame minimize?

It minimize the healthcare inequality. The healthcare inequality is common among the people and they do not get proper healthcare facilities.

How might others in a similar setting or industry think differently about this question from the way you do?

The same question can be different if there will be insufficient fundinf, limited resources and shortage of resources. The staff shortage can be one of the biggest issues.

What slogan might best summarize your frame/perspective?

For example: First come, first served.

Equality and Quality for all.

What decision-making format did you use? (Committee? Survey? Something else?)

I seleced plunging in because of my targeted population. I do also feel and anticipate that such a program will teach students from the medical schools who volunteer, are taught or complete their clinicals at Bellevue, and want them to perhaps follow such a subject and make it his or her speciality in the future. I feel if technology is advancing why shouldn’t such a programme be devised and used to provide young individuals a possibility of a family when they are ready. Hopefully, the general public, family, government, and medical professionals will think it's a good idea. I'm so confident in my program that I'm sure it'll blend in seamlessly with the rest of the company's operations. The only difference is adding paediatric fertility preservation program for youngsters at the age of 13 to be able to have a family when they become older. My program, I believe, will have a significant influence on the community, and the majority of that impact will be beneficial. Securing money for such a program would be one of the first significant barriers to overcome, but I do believe that this may be accomplished effectively.
