Preparation
In your assignment preparation for your Week 3 assignment, you chose one type of crime and victim from the list below:

Child Abuse.
Domestic Violence (intimate partner abuse).
Hate Crime.
Homicide (impact on surviving family and friends).
Human Trafficking.
Sexual Assault.
As a refresher, below are some articles related to each of the topics above. You may use one of the articles below that matches your topic in your paper. You will also need to find additional professional and scholarly sources to complete your work, using the Internet or the Capella University Library. Assignment Instructions:
After you have chosen your topic and your references, construct a 35-page paper that will be graded on the following criteria. Be sure to address each one.

Apply psychological theories that help us to understand the potential psychological impact to the victim. You may use any psychological theories that apply. Examples include but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral, psychosocial, hierarchy of needs, and identity theory.
Explain social consequences of the crime. For example, how does it impact the family, neighborhood, or community at large?
Find services that could help support the victim.
Find research articles that provide evidence in support of the effectiveness of those services.

Assignment Requirements:
Your paper should meet the following requirements:

Written communication: Written communication is free of grammar, spelling, and format errors that detract from the overall message.
APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines.
You may reference the Capella Writing Center: Evidence and APA.

Length of paper: 35 typed, double-spaced pages of content, in addition to the title page and references page.
References: A minimum of three references. You may need at least two professional sources, one for psychological theory, and one to support your work on social consequences. At least two must be scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles. (You may use more than three sources if you like.)
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
