Prisons can have some benefits, certainly. Here, I require you to design a prison class.
What will be taught?
Why? Is this already taught in prisons? Where?
Why? To what end?
What are students supposed to get out of this? What is the demonstrated benefit?
Who will be admitted?
Are these students particularly vulnerable in some way? Why are they being targeted for this programming?
Who will benefit from this?
Think of people both inside and outside of the prison. Think of the present and the future?
Who is most likely to be successful in the course?
Here, particularly, build on the existing literature?
Does this class or program do anything besides make you feel like youre the students saviour? Does it demonstrate anything besides that someone in charge is inherently better than the prisoner-students? Do the benefits really benefit the student or do they benefit someone else?
