1. Summarize the topic of your research and your hypotheses or research questions. Explain why you think the hypothesis is true or what you think the answer to the question will be and why.

2. Describe what type of research methods you would use in the proposed research. [In this course, you already have this answer pre-selected for you, you are using1 quantitative and 1 qualitative method, please be more specific regarding how this will be administered].

3. Justify this choice with quotations from Patten, Fink or another expert.

4. Explain in your own words WHY you have chosen these methods [yes, your professor forced you; but this is to discuss how each method will strengthen your research].

5. What are some of the key choices you have to make concerning your use of the chosen methods?

6. At this point in your planning, what decisions have you made about those choices?

7. What are some ethical issues that each of these methods raises?

8. How will you address these potential ethical issues in your design?

2nd part

Write a survey of at least 8 close-ended questions.
As well as one question developed by another researcher.

Write a survey of at least 8 close-ended questions which will be asked of participants in your study.  This will be the quantitative methods portion of your proposal.  This survey should include at least one question developed by another researcher (cite where you got it from).
Before beginning to write or select your survey questions, create a list of at least two concepts that you intend to measure with the questions on the survey (include brief summary of concepts).
The survey should be intended for administration to the general public (Professionals in the field you are questioning) as a face-to-face interview. The questions and layout of the survey should reflect the fact that you will be reading them out loud to the respondents.
You need to pay attention to the general principles of writing good questions.
