Guidelines for writing replies:

Try your best to engage with the student using one or more of the following strategies:

1. Summarize what you think the student has articulated.

2. Share when/where you are in agreement with the stated answers.

3. Share when/where you are not in agreement with the stated answers.

4. Share when/where you are not sure if either of you have articulated the correct answer.

5. Ask questions. Small, technical questions, and large/unanswerable questions. Questions you arent sure how to answer.

6. State anything you may believe the student might have missed.

7. Use examples that may relate to the topic.

8. Be encouraging, enthusiastic, interested, inquisitive, thoughtful, & respectful.
