During the course, you are to write two 6+ paged typed (Times New Roman 12 pt. font.) papers on the topics listed below. In order to be successful, you must incorporate a sociological analysis throughout the paper. Papers that do not incorporate a sociological analysis will be failed. These assignments will account for 25% of your grade. Late papers will not be accepted.

Pick a major classical theorist in Sociology (Marx, Weber, Durkheim) and use their theoretical perspective to explain a social phenomenon (i.e.: poverty, suicide, racism, sexism, social stratification, imperialism and war, terrorism, crime, corporate dissemination of news, etc.) of your choosing.
