1. After watching the video, provide the speaker with peer evaluations of his speech. For example, what could the speaker have done to make his speech more effective? What did you enjoy about his introduction? What could he have improved in his introduction? What transitions did the speaker use? Could the transitions have been better? If so, how? What signposts did the speaker use? Was the body of speech effective? Why? How? What could the speaker do to improve his conclusion? Was his clincher effective? If so, what did you like about it? If not, what could he use instead? Provide at least five (5) constructive criticisms to help this student improve his speech.
2. Chapter 5 discusses several listening problems that can make evaluating messages difficult. What listening problem(s) do you recognize in your own communication? How could you overcome this/ these problem(s)? What listening steps do you need to work on to become a better listener? What steps of the listening process do you do well? Use examples to support your arguments.
