complete short pieces of writing

So the “journal” is two-three entries for each reading in my class for this semester.
this includes:
William Shakespeare, King Lear (England) signet edition
Wole Soyinka, Ak (Nigeria)
Eunice Lipton, Alias Olympia (United States)
Paule Marshall, Chosen Place, Timeless People (Caribbean)
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice (England)

we are currently on Chosen Place.
each work needs two-three entries on it and it would be great if the writer could begin writing the entries and i could also provide notes that my professor has given on each reading. the whole “journal” is due on the last day of class.

below are the instructions on the journal given by the professor

Topics for the Journal are open. The entries are not rough notes, but complete short pieces of writing. The complete journal should not exceed a total of 3,000 words.

The format for the journal consists of two or three entries for each work. The entries will consist of your observations, commentaries and assessments of the works. You can include connections to the present time and among the various works of the semester. Do not include plot summary. If you like, you can present an entry of overview of questions or considerations that arise from a particular reading.
