Same Sex Parenting

Include an introduction, basic description of your chosen topic, as well as any key aspects or terms. You may want to include some data where applicable. (example: explain divorce and provide some statistics showing rates of incline or decline or where divorce is more common, etc)

Depiction of Topic in Chosen Film & Description of Research
Compare and contrast the topic explored in the film that is also the focus of your academic research.

Answer the following questions as you compare and contrast the research you found and the film you watched:

How might the film help us understand what was covered in research?
How might the research help us better understand the film?
What elements found in research would be useful to include in the film?
What nuances shown in the film would be helpful for research to explore?
Your goal is to show how the film portrayed a topic that is also researched in psychological literature and vice versa.

For example, you would explain various examples of how Dory (from Finding Nemo) experienced forgetfulness as a way to help us understand your research topic of memory in Blue Tang fish.  You would also include information from your research articles on memory to help explain what the movie got right or where it could have improved.

There is no need to summarize the entire film!  Assume I already have watched the film.

Propose solutions
Provide 2 or 3 solutions to the problems associated with your topic. How do we solve the problem you saw in your film and read about in your research? How do we continue progress on this issue? Be specific!  Be thoughtful, be creative!  Think of solutions that you would implement if money or politics were NOT a barrier.  Pretend as if you were really going to present this solution to others.  It must be an idea you believe in and think could really work.
Anything related to the idea of educating society about this issue is too vague and NOT acceptable. (example:  requiring something like a driver’s license before becoming a parent or a spouse to someone else, a government program that would tax all watchers of porn and use that money to protect abused children, a new type of dating app, you get the idea!)
