Annotated Bibliography = 30 points. ESI Learning Outcomes above. You will be writing an annotated bibliography for this course on a topic of your choice within the context of animal tool-use. An annotated bibliography is an expanded version of a regular bibliography (list of sources at the end of a research paper or book). It contains a paragraph (between two to five sentences) under each bibliographical entry summarizing the source content and explaining how or why the source is important for your chosen question. The aim of this annotated bibliography is for you to locate, read carefully and choose 10 pertinent primary scientific papers that may contain useful information and ideas on your topic. You will have to extract and present key information from them that provide a variety of perspectives on your question or demonstrate the evolution of your topic. You will have to compare or contrast this work with another you have cited, or explain how this work illuminates your topic. Use the extracted information ethically and responsibly (ESI Learning Outcomes). Cite the articles using the appropriate style and according to the guidelines given in class. Please submit your annotated bibliography digitally on Blackboard on May 7 no later than 6pm. Do not submit paper copies. This is a very strict deadline, and you will not be able to upload to Blackboard after this time. You should start the process of submitting your annotated bibliography early enough in-case of technical issues. Prof. Harmand will only accept assignments submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Students are not permitted to re- write and re-submit their assignment in order to try to improve their marks after the due time.
