2. The Federal Reserve Bank commissioned a study in the early 2000s on the relationship between incentives and performance. Four behavioral economists– conducted the study (Dan Ariely, Uri Gneezy, George Loewenstein, and Nina Mazar: Large Stakes and Big Mistakes: Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Working Paper No. 05-11). Based on the results of the study, Daniel Pink, an author, wrote a book entitled Drive. He also has given a few talks on the subject.
