1) Set the context of each text. You need to introduce the author, list their important credentials, state the name of the text, and say where and when it was published. This should be in the introduction paragraph.

2) Use “They Say/I Say” techniques to introduce paraphrases, summary, and quotes (anytime you use an idea from one of the authors you need to make sure your reader knows where the idea came from). You’ll also need to use in-text citations for McCarthy.

3) You need to clearly state how you are using activity theory to look at McCarty’s work with Dave. I think you imply it, but you should explain how you are applying it in your introduction and then articulate what you found by applying it in the body paragraphs.
