Reflective Practice Written Assignment

You are to include the following:
1.    Select an interaction, event or experience that stands out for you during your practicum.
2.    Write a narrative summary of 2-3 paragraphs that explains what happened.
3.    Write a paragraph or two that captures your reflection on how you interpret the event.
4.    Write another paragraph or two from a different perspective.  How might someone other than you interpret the event?  For example, if a parent brought the child to the appointment, you could write about how the parent might view the interaction.  Or, if you are seeing a couple, how the non-patient might view the appointment/interaction.
5.    Finally, write 2  paragraphs: one that expresses what you have learned from this reflective activity that will influence your practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.  The second paragraph should tie in readings from you didactic course or previous content.  For example, if you think the interaction reflected some of Peplau’s concepts about interpersonal theory, you could incorporate those themes.
