HR

Since inception, our human resource (HR) policies have been lacking detail and uniformity.  HR was not properly involved in the creation of our corporate strategy and have been attempting to catch-up ever since.  We have been through five HR directors, with the last director leaving the company 6 months ago.  The biggest complaint from the former HR Directors was the lack of support in developing the policies necessary to manage employees effectively.

It is time to develop the right policies to deal with our retention issues.  We are competitive, but struggle with turnover in the service area.  As the CEO, I suspect that we are not developing our people effectively.  Improving the development of our employees has been a part of the strategic plan for the past four years, but has not been fully realized.

There are five items on the Strategic plan that are the responsibility of HR:

Staff Development Strategy
Performance Measurement Plan
Organizational Efficiency Restructuring Plan
Employee Data Protection Policies (HIPAA)
Benefits Plan
Based on all of the issues, including the current legal issue involving that former employee, it is time to develop and deploy these critical strategic items.

Team Documentation Expectations:

Create an HR specific mission/vision statement
Staff Development Strategy
Performance Measurement Plan
Organizational Efficiency
Restructuring Plan
Employee Data Protection Policies (HIPAA)
Benefits Plan
