Federal/State Policy Issues

1) Conduct interviews with at least three early childhood educators about federal (e.g., NCLB, Title I, IDEA) or state (child care regulations) policy that governs early childhood education. Your practicum/field experience mentor teachers qualify as interviewees. One interviewee should be the administrator of a faith-based pre-school to determine how this factor makes a difference, if at all. 2) Use at least five criteria, based on your personal interest. Examples might include impact of funding on curriculum, testing criteria, demographic information about the teacher, impact of NCLB and Title 1 in the classroom, etc. 3) The interviews can be conducted via email, telephone, face-to-face, web-based instrument, or any other method that works for you. 4) Create a Microsoft Word table or Excel spreadsheet that identifies your criteria and results.
