Explanatory thesis within the first or second paragraph of the essay. It is NOT to be an argumentative thesis, but one which points the reader to a new development, insight, or issue in a discipline, problem or situation. The essay will discuss this development or insight with supporting or differing opinions from two separate sources, located in the Anthology of Readings section of the text. A minimum of two sources must be used but more may be cited from the Anthology if the student chooses to do this.
