Dante’s Inferno: the topography of the underworld

Dante’s Inferno: the topography of the underworld The paper should be focused on œstrong images in Dante’s Inferno (Divina Commedia), concerning the topography of the underworld. After a brief introduction to the topic, it should give diverse insights by also referring to some of the canonical illustrations (Botticelli for example). It is a paper for a class called Images of World Literature: Illustrations of Virgil, Dante and Goethe, hence any link between such authors is appreciated. And overall the translation of texts into images (and vice versa) should work as a leitmotif. 6
