Confluences of pre-civil war literature

Confluences of pre-civil war literature Project description œConfluences. This American Lit course is organized thematically rather than historically so that the class can look at the various ideas that interweave to form American literature. But the course would be only partly useful if a sense of history, of the confluence of those ideas, did not also emerge. This paper is your opportunity to do that. In a paper 10 pages, discuss readings from this course that were published within a 20-year time frame. What ideas come together during this time, and in what ways? Can you characterize the time you have chosen, on the basis of the readings? This is not a œresearch paper, but you might want to include some research so that you’re not making generalizations in the dark. What were the significant events of the period? How do those events find expression in the literature? Your textbook’s introductions provide a great deal of historical (and biographical) context, but for some historically rich periods, you might need to read some straight historical sources as well. Beyond this background reading, you should plan to discuss at least 5 works of literature included on our syllabus. Papers must conform to the protocols for papers on literature as described by the Modern Language Association (MLA guidelines); and any ideas or materials drawn from other sources must be documented according to these guidelines. ”””- Added on 02.12.2014 15:23 attached are instructions and a list of the readings that we went through during the semester, that should be incorporated into the essay. many of these readings are within similar time periods and compliment each other. The entire course was based off of these readings, all of which were found in our text book but can be found elsewhere. i know it says 10 pages, but with only 250 words for page you offer I would like this to be more in depth. any further questions please let me know.
