Comparing Aristotles poetics theories to movies today 1) Are the theories of Aristotle applicable to the world today? Or, perhaps even better, do the movies that are successful today adhere to the majority of Aristotles principals? 2)What does it mean to say that a plot must have a beginning, middle, and end? is such a tight structuring necessary to a good plot? 3)Compare and contrast the greek notion of harmartia with our modern conceptions of guilt and moral failure. Can we still understand Greek tragedy with such different moral wordlviews, and how would they be different today?
