1.0 Your assignment: At the end of the activity, there will be an important debriefing session. Please be advised that it is imperative that you take notes of what had happened during the activity. You should look at the behaviors that you have exhibited during the activity. You may also want to consider the behaviors demonstrated by other students at some stage in the activity. Please take notes as reliance on memory is unlikely to help you much in this assignment. The following are the three critical areas (see below) that will be assessed against although there are five marking criteria in all. (A set of slides on how your assignment will be assessed is available on Blackboard and you should consult these slides to make sure that you cover all five marking criteria as comprehensively as possible). 1.1 Description of leadership behavior exhibited You will be required to describe, in sufficient detail, the behaviors that you have observed in yourself and/or in others. Please remember to record the appropriate tags worn by students during this activity to help you in writing your description. While you will not need to list the details of every tag presented in class, some will be needed for your report. You will also need to have the names of the students mentioned and the tags that they had been given in the report. Be mindful when writing your assignment that you do not merely describe the events that had happened but that you reflect on why they had occurred in the way that they did. Also, do not attempt to write about too many incidents. Think of a few (no more than three) that appear to be critical to your understanding of leadership and write about these. 3 You will also need to demonstrate linkage to some of the other Leadership Development Activities (LDA) that have already been conducted in class and, if you wish, to other LDA that you might have sourced yourself, making sure that you cite these appropriately. 1.2 Critical analysis of experience, reflection on changes required and theory integration You will need to critically analyze why you behaved the way you did and how this reflects your own leadership behavior (as well as what you believe was or were the reason or reasons that others behaved the way they did). You must ensure that you link relevant leadership theories and concepts to the behaviors that you have identified, either in yourself or in those you have observed. Remember that what you have learned from the LDA can also be applied here. For example, you can connect your discussion to the characteristics that are expected of leaders and ask yourself why you (and/or others that you have observed) did or did not exhibit such behaviors. Please be mindful that theory inclusion is not the same as theory integration. Theory inclusion means that all that you have done is just to mention the theory and to cite it. Theory integration requires you to actually use and apply the particular relevant theory or theories to explicate the situation and to enhance the effectiveness of your analysis. You must also consider the change or changes that will need to be made in your own leadership paradigm if you are to become an effective leader. Note that you will have to define what you think is an effective leader in the first place and here, integration of the appropriate leadership theories would be very useful. You will also be expected to critically discuss how such change can be brought about. Remember to identify, integrate and apply relevant theories and concepts in this section.1.3 Identification of lessons learned and overall experience Comment on possible leadership gaps for the future that you may have identified as a result of your learning from this activity and discuss the areas that you (or the person that you have been writing about) might need to work on for the future. 1.4 Important Notice: Slides for Assignment Note that I have prepared a number of slides that will further explain what is expected of you in writing your report. These are available on Blackboard and it is your responsibility to refer to these slides. The five marking criteria are explicated in some detail in these slides. These slides will be discussed in class after the activity. (To Best essay writer: I Attached this slides to you. Please look at them carefully)The five marking criteria are as follows: Marks allocated Criterion 7 Description of leadership behavior exhibited 12 Critical analysis of experience, reflection on changes required and theory integration 5 Identification of lessons learned and overall experience 4 Presentation and referencing of assignment 2 Correct English grammar, spelling, usage References: between 8 and 12 academic references. APA 6th edition. NO PLAIGARISM.Heres the description of the activity that took place in the class and I participated in it. You need to imagine that you were on my shoes and write the reflection accordingly. The Activity: Each student has a tag at his or her back with a statement and the students dont know whats written on it. You can see only other student tags but you cannot see yours and talking to each other is not allowed. Each student has to read these tags and try to make the right team for at least 2 people. There 10 rounds and in each round the student has to try to create a new team. You gain points after each round depends on the number of the members on your team as follow: 2 members: you got 0 3 members: you got 5 points 4 members and above: 10 points Standing alone with No members which means no one wants to be with you: -5 If you got wrong team members (tags dont match with each other) you get: -10The tags that students have: Always accept this person Always reject this person Reject this person if youre taller than him/her Reject this person if you he/she wears hand watch Reject this person if you he/she wears glasses Reject this person if you wear sucks Some tags ask students to reject or accept the person in specific rounds such as: accept this person in round 1,2,3,6,8My tag (Which you need to talk about in the assignment and you must mention it in the assignment as well with my score) is: Always reject this person and my final score was -55 (this because no one wants to team up with me so I kept getting -5 in each round and total is -55) At the first 4 rounds I was exciting and trying to find people who would accept me. Then after the fourth round I felt rejected and didnt want to play so I just stand by the wall hoping someone will come and team up with me (remember: I didnt know whats written on my back). However I didnt have any motivation to go ahead and read others tags and to try to make a team after the round 4. (You can also think of more details or imagine more details about how you acted during this exercise. The professor said we need to write about: What happened for example: I was looking for a team in the first 4 rounds Reflection: What did you feel and other feelings Relevant theory.Another main point/s about what happened after such as: I stopped looking for a team after round 4 What did I feel Relevant theoryetcYou need to reflect according to the professor requirements above and in the additional slides and also you need to talk about:The paradigm: Why no one helped me? Why no one decide to take a pen and change the tag on my back to make it: Never reject this person instead of always reject this person? Why I did not challenge the paradigm and help others by either removing he glass of the person wearing it and he has the tag reject this person if he/she wears glasses? Etc.What prohibit people from changing the paradigm? There was no roles given to us beside we were not allowed to talk. No one told us we cannot help each other to change the tags. Why did I create roles that didnt exit? The professor himself at some point took the glasses from that person to help him to find a team. But I didnt understand that I can do similar action to other students and no one also thought of that. Why?You need to address these issues in relevance to leadership theories.
