Greate self-reflective journal entries in which they will record their thoughts, feelings, observations and ideas in relation to the set readings. There is no such thing as “correctness” in the journaling process however the weekly themes should be addressed in each journal entry. To help students gain greater insight into their own interpersonal communication styles and development, it will be important to use the activities at the end of each chapter in the textbook.
Each journal entry must be no longer than 3 pages double-spaced (750 words). An additional 1 page (250 words) focusing on a Learning Goal should be attached to each of the 3-page journal entries.STRICT WORD LIMIT
For this single page Learning Goal, students will identify 1 key skill based on their journal entry. This key skill should be important in the students’ efforts to improve their practice as Child and Youth Care Practitioners.
For this key skill, the students will identify a goal and describe 3 to 4 concrete strategies to help achieve the goal. Students must clearly explain how achieving the goal will enhance their overall professional development.
