Project Management – Project Outline

Prepare
the Outline of the Final Project based on your approved Project Proposal
submitted in Week 4. The Outline must be structured on the Proposal to ensure
the application of the concepts and techniques learnt in this module.

The Outline must show clear boundaries between the sections of the
Final Project which are as follows:

  • A formal
    change request
  • An
evaluation of the impact of the change (as submitted to the Change Control
    Board)—time and labour only
    Note: It will be necessary
to create an original project schedule and budget to analyse the impact of the
change request. Consider that the additional wing will be built
    concurrently.
  • A list of
    all the assumptions made
  • An
analysis of the risk factors due to the change request
  • A new
    schedule that shows:
    • The
      additional time required
    • The
      additional labour cost
    • The new
      completion date
  • A
statement of work for one contractor.
  • A contract
closure process description for one contractor
  • A project
    closure process description

Please make sure that you cite and reference all your outside sources
properly, as per the Harvard Referencing System.

Note from theinstructor

I suppose you
never expected an instructor to tell you not to write too much in an assignment,
but that is what I am doing regarding the Week 6 Project Outline.

For this
assignment, you will structure a detailed outline for the Week 8 Final Project.
DO NOT submit an Outline with all of the sections filled in. Save that
for Week 8. (Should you submit a completed Final Project as your Project
Outline, you will be instructed to rewrite the sections for the Final
Project).

I am looking
for a logical progression of topics from Introduction to Conclusion. Carefully
check the requirements for the Final Project and make sure that you are
including all of the required elements. The Outline must show clear boundaries
between the sections of the Final Project. Create a place
holder
for schedules/charts, Change Request Form, etc., but do
not include them in them in the Outline
. If you are placing the
schedule in an Appendix, you do not need a placeholder within the paper, but
indicate the Appendices at the end of the Outline.

Format
your Outlne using topics and sub-topics.

Some of you
have already discussed an introduction, aims and objectives, as well as project
scope and methodology in your Project Proposal. Be sure to place these
topics (but not the discussion) in your Outline.

I will expect
you to provide a Reference Page (that can be modified in Week 8) with a
comprehensive list of sources that you will be using to support the writing in
Week 8. I expect that you will search for supplemental sources, beyond Sanghera
and Wysocki. Many of you have conducted excellent research so far, and can use
any of those articles that you deem relevant to the discussion in the Final
Project. The Reference Page will come at the end of the Outline.
