History of the English Lanuage
Paper instructions:
Old English: “The Death of John the Baptist” from c1611 (King James Bible), c1525 (Tyndale’s Bible), c1375 (Wycliffite Bible), and c1000 (AElfric’s translation of the Gospel). For all four years only lines 29 and 30, write how English changes in Vocabulary, Grammar, and Spelling. Choosing words from each year, lines 29 and 30 give examples (vocabulary, grammar, spelling). How Latin, French, Norse, and the languages during those times, etc…influenced the changes or growth of the English language.
