Biological Perspective Theory Application
As learned in this unit’s readings from your text, there are certain personality attributes that seem to be highly correlated with biological and physiological phenomena. Use the information you have learned from the text and this unit’s discussions about the biological level of personality to answer the questions given below.
In this assignment, you will have an opportunity to apply what you have learned about the biological level perspective of personality psychology.
Review the Lourdes case study and your predictions of where Lourdes would rank on each of the five factors measured on the NEO PI-R from the Unit 1 assignment, the chapter readings, and other learning materials in this unit. Upon completion of your review, you will write a paper sharing your predictions on the following:
1. Is Lourdes more sensitive or less sensitive to stimulation in her ascending ARAS relative to most people? Why?
2. Whether you feel the left or right side of Lourdes’s brain would show higher activity if her brain activity were measured by EEG? Note: This question is directly related to your answer to the following two questions.
3. Would Lourdes be rated higher in BAS reactivity or BIS reactivity?
4. Would Lourdes’s left or right side of the brain (Question 2) show higher activity? Why? Your response is related to your answer about her BAS or BIS reactivity (Question 3).
A template is provided for each assignment (see the Resources). The headings in the template should be used as headings for each section of the assignment. Write, in essay form, under each respective heading using APA format. Include a title page, reference page, in-text citations, one-inch margins, five-space indent, 12-point font, and double-spacing.
This paper should be a minimum of two pages (excluding the title page and reference page).
