Discuss how the book influenced your thinking or your goals in life, and use examples from the book to support your statements.

This “Book Report” has an assigned book. The book information is as

follows: Title: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, the ISBN # is

(978-0-14-143951-8) and has 435 pages. This Book Report must be 700

words in length, doubled spaced, and have side margins of 1 1/2 inches

and top and bottom margins of 1 inch. The “FONT” must be 12 point

in size and Times New Roman or Arial. The Book Report must be written

in “Narrative Form” and from a Christian perspective.

Additional Instructions concerning the “Structure of the Book Report.

I The Introduction

a). The title and the author of the book should appear as a heading in

the top of the page.

b). The first sentence should include the title of the book, the author’s

name, and the central idea.

c). Interest your readers by including a striking statement or quotation

from the book or one of the characters.

d). Include the time and the setting if applicable.

e). Include a thesis sentence which indicates how you intend to

organize your thoughts.

II. The Body

a). For a “Fiction Book”, introduce the reader to the chief characters in

the book and write a summary of the plot.

b). Discuss each topic introduced in your thesis sentence in a

separate paragraph.

III. The Conclusion

a). For a Fiction Book, include a discussion of how the main conflicts

in the plot were resolved.

IV. The Evaluation

a). Discuss your personal thoughts about the book, whether favorable

or unfavorable from a Christian perspective.

b). Discuss how the book influenced your thinking or your goals in

life, and use examples from the book to support your statements.

c). What was the author’s perspective, frame of reference, or

presupposition? Did you agree or disagree? Why or why not?
